General terms and conditions

The conditions for the Registrant to subscribe to our Exclusive Management of Intellectual Property Rights Agreement imply that the Registrant must: (i) register as a user on the web management platform by generating a username and password, (ii) validate his/her identity, (iii) accept the terms and conditions of use of the platform by declaring as a sworn statement his/her ownership of the music to be uploaded to the platform, (iv) successfully upload his/her music and, finally, once the quality of the music has been validated, curated and accepted by Watermelon, (v) comply with the subscription to the Agreement.

If the music uploaded to the platform has in the past been managed by another collecting society, proof of termination of that relationship may be requested in the form of a letter of release.

When the Holder does not reside in Spain, a certificate of tax residence issued by the tax authorities of his place of residence may be requested for the purpose of avoiding double taxation where applicable.

If the user uploads his/her music on behalf of a legal entity, he/she must also attach: (i) Articles of Association with details of the corporate purpose linked to the exploitation of intellectual property works; (ii) copy/s of valid publishing contract/s; (iii) document accrediting the power to represent the legal entity.

They must also send a certificate of census status (AEAT) if they are domiciled in Spain and VAT ID number and registration in the European Commission's VAT information exchange system (VIES).

Tariffs 2021

The general rates applicable to our clients for the use of background music are determined and offered for annual periods considering certain parameters that include but are not limited to: the type of client, its location, the value of the music in its field, the number of establishments and/or square metres where the licensed music will be used, etc.
